Our tour calendar for Ski, Slpit & Snowshoe tours is now open! If you haven't been able to get to us over the past couple of challenging seasons now is a good time book with trips filling fast. At SMBC we have a pathway from beginner backcountry experiences right through to arduous ski/split mountaineering adventures. Our tours progress sequentially building on your skills base & teaching you how to move through the mountains safely & efficiently in more challenging terrain.
We have a tour for everyone! You need only be a strong intermediate rider able to make controlled turns off piste in order to join us on an SMBC tour. You don't need to have any backcountry experience at all, this is where we come in. However if you do we will place you accordingly on the right tour for you.
Our BC Intro tour is a fun learning day about building bc fundamentals whilst getting some turns in. Our Guthega backcountry is for those a little fitter with bc skills & our Main Range tour is a journey onto the higher ground touring back through the less travelled Pounds Creek. The Western Faces Experience is a Ski/Split Mountaineering style journey to steeper country where we climb with crampons & ice axe as the slope angle is too great for climbing skins. The 3Pks High Route is a classic European style ski traverse over 27km from Guthega to Thredbo, this is a cracker of a day!
