Mt Kosciuszko is Australia's highest mountain at 2228m & one of the seven summits!

Mountaineers from all over the world attempt to climb the highest peak on each of the world's seven continents including Australia's Mount Kosciuszko. Whether it is in winter on snowshoes or summer in hiking boots SMBC will take you to the top of Australia! Not restricted by altitude difficulties, Kosi is a reasonably straight forward objective but can be often plagued by extremely strong winds, poor visibility, snow & ice.

Enjoy a great day out anytime of the year with Australia's leading adventure specialists to bag Australia's highest peak & one of your seven summits! SMBC will guide you to the top whilst sharing natural & cultural interpretive information with you & discuss contingency plans & strategies for backcountry survival. We believe it’s always good to take a few learning experiences away with you but this isn’t a course & we will gauge just how much knowledge you would like.

Each person must have a return ticket to ride the Kosciuszko Chair lift at the beginning & end of the tour. This tour is 13km return & without the chairlfit support the summit is not achievable. The tour is entirely in the treeless Alpine terrain which affords very little shelter & can experience incredible wind speeds. Suitable conditions will be required on the day & correct equipment as per the SNOWSHOE EQUIPMENT LIST is essential.

MT TATE ALTERNATIVE: If you have already summited Mt Kosciuszko, Mt Tate is another great route or an alternate route to Kosi! This journey commences from SMBC HQ at Guthega & is a more scenic & arduous 13km return route. Rating is...TOUGH MORE DETAIL
